Harry Reid - Not all Hispanics are Equal

Apparently, not all Hispanics have Harry Reid's permission to "come out of the shadows".

From The Atlantic:

The Las Vegas Review Journal reports today on Harry Reid courting Hispanics in his re-election race, and the state's 24% Hispanic population (as of 2007; it's possibly grown since then) could certainly be a critical voting bloc for him. His opponent, Sharron Angle, is an outspoken supporter of Arizona's SB 1070 and has proposed making English the official language of Nevada; Reid supports giving illegal immigrants a pathway to citizenship, but the Democratic Senate has failed to move on immigration reform since he promised in April that reform would happen this year.

Why would Reid be courting legal Hispanics? Many polls show that the majority of Arizona's legal Hispanics are in favor of SB 1070. Maybe he's courting "illegal Hispanics"? And you might want to explain why you can't move forward with immigration reform with Democrats controlling both Houses, Dingy Harry. Hint: it ain't because the public is in favor of it.

Reid's comments:

U.S. Sen. Harry Reid on Tuesday slammed Republicans for blocking comprehensive immigration reform and told Hispanics they shouldn't be treated differently because "their skin's a tone darker" than that of America's early European immigrants.

"I don't know how anyone of Hispanic heritage could be a Republican, OK," Reid said, speaking to Latino supporters whose votes he needs to win re-election in November. "Do I need to say more?"

Who's always bringing up the color of anybody's skin? Who's against white European immigrants? The same ones who project their own racism onto their opponents who never seem to talk about those things.
